This prerelease replaces the rejected wind-limited VS Sails baseline with the
deterministic first-party Piratecraft Ships 0.1.0 addon on the native
Eureka ship path. Fleet ships are the Pirates-nativepirates_eureka
templates with upstream Eureka engine defaults; no addon is needed to convert
them. VS Sails and the oldpirates-sails-compataddon are reference-only and
are not in this pack.Arcade ship controls
- W/S steps the throttle notch Reverse (-25%), Furled, Low (33%), Medium
(67%), and Full. The notch is latched after key release, persists per ship,
and the first real captain on a fresh ship starts at Furled. Pirates AI
keeps its upstream behavior and is never scaled by the human notch. - A/D steers at 65% at rest, ramping to full turning by 1 m/s horizontal
speed; steering inverts while the notch is Reverse. Eureka cruise is
disabled as redundant.
Captain broadside
- The rebindable X key selects the native Pirates cannon bank by look
(within a 60-degree aim cone, no fore/aft fallback), fires unlimited
standard shot bow to stern with a 2-tick stagger, and starts a ship-wide
100-tick reload after the last shot. - Captured (DISARMED) cannons fire manually while the Pirates AI remains
disarmed.
Evidence and gates
checks.x86_64-linux.shipspasses in 50 s with 109 assertions on a clean
39-mod server runtime with no VS Sails: exact versions, config defaults,
notch constants/factors/latching, AI raw passthrough, cannon-bank fixture
scan and selection, SavedData serialization, and broadside tick idempotence.- Prism, static metadata/module/standalone-policy/client-compatibility/client,
and the HMC client-smoke checks are green. The builtPiratecraft-0.3.0-beta.11.mrpack
is 74,787 bytes, embeds exactly one byte-identical
piratecraft-ships-0.1.0.jar, and contains no Sails, probe, or third-party JARs. - Not yet covered: real in-world handling (a real mounted player exercising the
throttle/turn path), an X-key packet-triggered projectile broadside, restart
persistence, manually fired captured cannons, and multiplayer/PvE remain
playtest gates. This is a prerelease, not production-ready.
